One Art Form to Another – John Parker

5 May – 30 September 2019

John Parker has shifted over the years from one art form to another, from professional bodybuilder to watercolour artist. As a world class professional body builder he worked to achieve symmetrical perfection in his physique through a rigid training schedule.

This dedication to perfection has now been transferred to his watercolour paintings. He loves to surround himself in the beautiful countryside and capture the passion and moods of the changing seasons such as setting suns, leafy lanes and evening shadows. The paintings show stunning views of Lancashire ranging from Towneley Park to Coniston Water. Within, you recognise John’s lifelong pursuit for the balanced form. You are drawn into the picture, along the paths, through the trees, beyond the hills, immersed in a truly tranquil setting, the artwork that is, John Parker.
