The Mr x Stitch Guide to Cross Stitch

3 October 2019 – 29 February 2020

The Mr X Stitch Guide to Cross Stitch will change the way you think about one of the humblest forms of needlework. Cross Stitch has been enjoyed by millions of people for hundreds of years, and yet these days many people think it is consigned to the realm of comfy countryside and cute cat pictures. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

In this exhibition, Jamie ‘Mr X Stitch’ Chalmers will bring together an international collection of cross stitch artists whose work will take you on an emotional roller coaster – from people trafficking to Pokemon and from eating disorders to Elvis, this needlework collection will leave you amazed at the impact of such simple stitches.

This exhibition is part of The British Textile Biennial which take place over Pennine Lancashire 3rd October – 3rd November 2019.
