LAND | SEA | LIFE: A British Art Collection

20 October 2017 – 17 February 2018

Art works in the LAND | SEA | LIFE exhibition are on loan from The Ingram Collection, which is recognised as one of this Country’s most significant collections of Modern British Art.

This exhibition explores recurring themes in the work of British artists of the twentieth century emphasising trends in subject matter including still life, the human figure, landscape and abstraction.

See over 70 works by over 40 leading artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Graham Sutherland and Laura Knight in this fascinating collection.

The exhibition will also investigate the notion of collecting, comparing the personal motives of Chris Ingram with the Gallery Collection and exploring why we collect?
