Streets of Change: Beattie’s Preston & Beyond

30 September – 26 November 2017

Explore Preston’s lost streets and buildings through our collection of Edwin Beattie watercolours and a giant Victorian map. What changes have you witnessed in Preston and what do you think about the city today?

Beattie (1845-1917) was a local artist who painted Preston at a time when the old town centre was being swept away to make way for new buildings like the Harris. This exhibition offers you the chance to share your memories in our interactive display space and see how contemporary artists and photographers are recording the changes in Preston a century after Beattie’s death.
