Wednesday 3 May 2017
The son of Lee Miller and Roland Penrose, Antony is the director of the Lee Miller archive and the Roland Penrose collection in Sussex. He has broadcast and lectured around the world and his publications include studies of his parents and his memoir for children, The Boy who bit Picasso.
The acclaimed American photographer Lee Miller was an established fashion and fine art photographer in Paris, before covering the Second World War as a war correspondent for Vogue. Antony Penrose speaks on her life, with reference to those with whom she exchanged creative inspiration, including Man Ray, Pablo Picasso, her father Theodore Miller and Antony himself. This definitive view presents many different levels of the history of art and photography from a unique and personal perspective.
