10th Birthday Celebrations
We celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Lowther Pavilion with a lecture on Chinese porcelain from well known broadcaster and Antiques Roadshow presenter Lars Tharp. A number of distinguished guests attended including The Arts Society CEO Florian Schweizer, who congratulated the Fylde Society on making art accessible to its local community. He said:
“From your inauguration in October 2009, it is clear that the Society has grown from strength to strength creating a vibrant and social environment for your members to enjoy. The way in which you have all supported a number of local activities has certainly ensured that you are part of the fabric of the Fylde Coast community and are a key player in benefiting your community through the Arts. Your exciting programme of events, incredible volunteering achievements and support of local projects embody the core values of The Arts Society, and bring us one step closer in making art accessible to all.”
Following the lecture, members were able to socialise as they enjoyed birthday cake and Prosecco.
