Collection Spotlight: Tony Heaton OBE + Amy Ellison / Nicola Dale + rachel goodyear

This autumn Grundy is pairing two artists and artworks from the collection that use light as their medium and two artists whose video works explore repetition and looped imagery. Amy Ellison and Tony Heaton OBE are artists with lived experience of disability; their works Raspberry Ripple (2018) and Cocktails (2020) were acquired into Grundy’s collection with support from Art Fund’s New Collecting Award.

Rachel Goodyear’s work Stirrings (2023) was co-commissoned and co-acquired with University of Salford Art Collection and Nicola Dale’s Echo Chamber (2020) was commissioned and acquired as a result of Grundy’s programme of activity with artists in response to Covid-19.

The presentation of work by these artists is part of Grundy’s ongoing series of activities that draw attention to artworks held in the Grundy’s permanent collection.
