
Art & Patronage in 17th Century England
Our next Study Day, on 25 November 2026, will be Art & Patronage in 17th Century England, by Lucy Hughes-Hallett. It will be held at the Clifton Arms Hotel, Lytham. Lucy previously gave us a lecture, Sown & Sewn: the Gardens of Restoration England, back in 2021 and we look forward to welcoming her back again.
Lucy will give three lectures spanning a century that was disrupted by civil wars but which saw successive waves of creativity and enthusiasm for the arts. The three lectures are:
- Ambassador Wotton
- George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham
- Gardens of the Restoration
Tickets cost £54 pp which includes: coffee/tea on arrival, two-course lunch and three lectures – and will be on sale at the September, October
