Titian To Van Dyck: The Art Of Portraiture

Wed 5 May 2010

Leslie Primo

Leslie Primo holds a BA in Art History and an MA in Renaissance Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London. He was Visiting Lecturer in Art History at the University of Reading in 2005 and 2007; and now gives lectures, guided tours and special talks at both the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery in London. Recently returned from working in Venice, his lectures are much in demand within the UK.

Two master portrait painters were used in this lecture to look at the interest and need for likenesses in portraiture and to learn how such paintings are used by those who have commissioned them.
