Four Winners From the Fylde Coast!
Every year the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) organises the RBA Rising Stars competition. The competition encourages aspiring young artists, who are identified and entered by The Arts Society’s local Societies. The RBA then selects the very best pieces for exhibition in London.
This year 36 Societies submitted 247 works to the RBA council and 21 finalists were chosen for their exceptional artworks which combine the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship using a variety of mediums, exploring equally varied subjects. Out of the 21 finalists, four are from the Fylde Coast! Our young artists have a history of doing well in this competition but to have four winners is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the talent and arts education in our area.
The four winners are:
- Genevieve Aspinall ( AKS)
- Robert Mill (AKS – also a winner last year)
- Tia Brown ( Blackpool 6th Form College)
- Rachel Howarth (Cardinal Newman)
The artworks were exhibited at the Royal Overseas League in London until 19 June and then moved to the Mall Gallery 4-14 July. Further information is available on The Arts Society website.
