The Judges’ Lodgings Museum
We begin with a tour, with refreshments, of this grade 1 listed museum, the majority of which was constructed in the early 1600s and was the home of the infamous gaoler of the Lancashire witches, Thomas Covell. It contains the world’s largest public collection of furniture by Gillow & Co., contemporaries of Chippendale, mentioned by Jane Austen. Due to the age of the building disabled access is limited.
Winter Gardens, Morecambe
A guided tour will give you the opportunity to admire this theatre’s architecture and enjoy a glimpse behind the scenes backstage, and step on to the stage where so many famous names have performed. You will see the breath-taking mosaic tiled floor and marble steps and hear about the Winter Garden’s future plans for its regeneration.
Cost is £39 pp, which includes coach, tours, light refreshments and lunch at Morecambe Golf Club. Further information about the excursion, together with a booking form, can be downloaded/printed here
Tickets will also be on sale at the April and May 2022 lectures.
