Day Visit: Port Sunlight and the Lady Lever Gallery
This excursion will take place on 29 June 2023
Below are some photos of this event
You will arrive at the Lady Lever Gallery at around 10:30am where you will be able to buy refreshments at the cafe before perusing the exhibits in this beautiful Gallery. Lunch is also obtainable in the cafe, before being picked up at 2:00pm by our own coach for a tour of Port Sunlight with their guide. We will take in the award winning museum, the Worker’s Cottage and the new exhibition at the Soap Works.
Port Sunlight was originally built by William Lever to house the workers of his nearby soap factory, Lever Brothers. He had a strong sense of social responsibility and created a village with architecturally interesting buildings, open green spaces and tree framed vistas to make the village an uplifting place to live and work, as well as an ideal place to explore.
The cost is £30 per person. The price includes: Return coach travel from four pickup points, free time in the Lady Lever Gallery and a guided tour of the award winning museum, Worker’s Cottage and new exhibition at the Soap Works in Port Sunlight.
The coach will collect members from four pick-up points:
- 8.45am Ashton Gardens, St Annes
- 8.55am The Fairhaven, Clifton Drive
- 9.05am Assembly Rooms, Lytham
- 9.15am Bus stop, Fleetwood Road, Wesham
The coach will leave at 4.30pm (approx) to return home. Drop off points will be the same as the above pick up points.
