The lecture gave an insight into the work of a Textile Conservator, outlining various treatments on different textiles. The three main culprits that cause damage are in the title. This lecture, although light hearted in approach, illustrated the more serious consequences to problems caused and how they can be overcome. Viewing illustrations of a variety of textile items, before, during and after treatment, demonstrate what can be achieved by specialist knowledge of conservation and repair techniques.
