Our 2020 European tour is to Umbria, the ‘Green Heart of Italy’.

The Lonely Planet says of the region: “Italy’s green heart, Umbria is a land unto itself, the only Italian region that borders neither the sea nor another country. This isolation has kept outside influences at bay and ensured that many of Italy’s old-world traditions survive today.”

Guardian Travel says: “The landlocked region between Tuscany, Le Marche and Lazio has art treasures to match anywhere on the peninsula – in Assisi and Perugia above all. Yet it never does a Portofino on your pocket.”

We will stay five nights at the centrally located 4* Hotel dei Duchi in Spoleto. Facilities at the hotel include a bar and restaurant. All rooms are en suite and feature television, telephone and a mini bar. A set three course welcome dinner without drinks is included at our hotel on the first evening, and the remaining four nights are on a bed and breakfast basis.
