Masters of the North

We have organised a Study Day for 17 November 2023 at Fylde Rugby Club. Masters of the North will be presented by one of our favourite lecturers, Brian Healey, and will highlight art, architecture and music in Scandinavia.

Blinded as we are by the French Impressionists and the Art of Southern Europe, it is easy to overlook the remarkable contribution of Nordic countries to the world’s treasury of great art, architecture, music and literature. Despite the constant battle to survive in the harshest of landscapes, the Masters of the North found endless inspiration in the wonders of nature, the ancient myths and the complexities of human relationships.
